The International Forum “Mineral Resources as the Basis of National Sovereignty – Personnel and Innovation Environment” is a large-scale major event to be held on the eve of the XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan. At the forum, leading experts and specialists from the BRICS countries, Africa, Latin America and South-East Asia will discuss topical issues related to the development of the mineral resources and fuel and energy sectors, as well as higher education systems and the training of highly qualified specialists.
The International Forum-Contest of Young Researchers from the BRICS countries “Topical Issues of Rational Use of Natural Resources” is an open platform for discussing topical issues of development of Russian and global mineral resources and fuel and energy complexes. Participation in the Forum-Contest is a unique opportunity to make a presentation in front of the audience from all over the world, to meet the representatives of government institutions and specialists from academic and business communities, to find potential partners and share the ideas with young researchers from other countries.

The UNESCO Competence Centre was created on the basis of the Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University in accordance with the Agreement of March 7, 2018 between the Government of the Russian Federation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
The Consortium unites more than 100 universities whose fields of study are related to the training of specialists for the mineral resources complex of Russia with the aim of increasing the level of adaptation of Russian universities to the demands of the labour market and further integration of large core companies, state authorities and universities.
